We conducted a prospective study of 160 children suffering from acute diarrhoea at a private tertiary care hospital in Navi Mumbai. The Study Group was administered ORS+ Zinc+ Probiotic (Bacillus Cla usii) and Control Group received ORS+ Zinc. The safety and efficacy of Bacillus Clausii along with the duration and frequency of diarrhoea was evaluated. Dehydration status was observed and effect of exclusive breast feeding with probiotic administration in diarrhoea was assessed. Bacillus Clausii is a promising probiotic along with the conventional therapy of ORS and Zinc in the management of acute diarrhoea in children. Keywords: Probiotics, Bacillus Clausii, diarrhoea
